Online Backup Service

It is now becoming increasingly common and more cost effective for customers to backup their data off site automatically overnight to this end Matts Business Centre have recently introduced our own managed backup solution which allows backups to be stored both on and off site.

Our service makes use of the ADSL broadband service over night when the office is not in use. After the backup set is created, our service will hold 3 copies of your data in a secure encrypted form (for which you will hold the security key). One copy on site at your premises, a copy here at our offices and a third copy replicated to a secure server in our data centre. Restoration of the data can be easily managed in the event of a hardware problem, or a problem with your site, as we have a copy of the data immediately available.

 An email will be sent daily to a nominated employee detailing the backup and its success or failure. In addition, we will also receive a daily error report to enable us to keep things up to date at this end in addition we have a minimum retention period of 30 days (this can be extended if required) during in which time you are able to access any version of a file you have backed up and restore any accidentally deleted or overwritten files from the same period. (especially useful for the old trick of overwriting a file with a blank one !). If required any file can be restored by using our simple web based interface, no tape to remember, automatic and very simple to use, we manage your backups for you for a yearly fixed cost with no limit on the size of the data sets.
